This
elegant watch BEEPS every
5 minutes, reminding you
- to pull in and
tension your pelvic floor
muscles to prevent urine
leakage,
- or to pull in and
tension your tummy muscles
and correct your posture.
No complicated settings,
just a simple on/off
button.
According
to research, at least 25%
of all
women
have more or less weak
pelvic floor muscles. This
means that any pressure
put on them by, for
example, coughing,
laughing,
jumping, lifting
or exercising, may cause
urine to leak.
This is called
stress incontinence,
and by far the most
common type of urinary
incontinence.
You can have the
eye-watering operations
described below, or you
can try our watch and do
the pelvic
floor exercises
for 2 hours a day.
Ladies....
Extract
from a Nursing Association
leaflet ....
"Ladies!
An important exercise for
life... Prevention is
always better than the
cure. Start today."
A
large number of women
suffer from
urine incontinency, often
after childbirth, whenthe
urinary muscle, the valve
at the neck of the
bladder, and muscles at
the bottom of the pelvic
floor are weakened.
But also in the menopause
complaints can occur or
increase.
If you are
experiencing problems of
stress incontinence or
other urinary symptoms,
do talk to your doctor,
practice nurse, continence
advisory service or
physiotherapist.
Two thirds of women are
helped by conservative
treatments such as pelvic
floor exercises,
biofeedback, cutting down
on alcohol and smoking and
switching to a diet full
of fruit and vegetables,
but for
around 11% surgery is the
only answer.
There are several
treatments for urinary
incontinence:
- extended-release
capsules of tolterodine to
help
frequent
urination and inability to
control it;
- colposuspension:
which involves a general
anaesthetic
and up to six days in
hospital with six
weeks
off work.
- TVT (tension-free
vaginal tape): which
consists of a
special mesh
tape, sheathed in plastic
with a needle in
either end,
which is inserted via a
small incision into
the vagina
looped around the middle
of the urethra -
lifting and
supporting it - then
passed out through two
abdominal
incisions. The needles are
then removed
and the mesh
secured.
- botox : injecting
botox into one of the
muscles which
control the
bladder to block the
contraction gives a
temporary
result lasting for a
minimum of six months.
Pelvic Floor
Exercise
A
simple exercise can
prevent it happening, or,
if done more frequently,
can cure this problem.
It is called Pelvic Floor
Exercise.
How
to do the exercises ?
The TummyWatch will
make a quiet beep every 5
minutes, prompting you to
start exercising.
Begin
by tightening
the muscles around the
back passage as if
preventing yourself
passing wind and at the
same time tighten the
muscles in front as if
stopping yourself passing
urine. Hold tightly for as
long as you can (at
least 5 seconds) and
then relax. Try holding
four more times.
Do these exercises several
times a day. This is one
of life's good habits.
Start it now !
"Tummywatch
is a must for all new
mothers".
Gently
start to exercise those
tummy muscles and get back
into shape!
Turn
on for 2 hours a day
giving you a toned up
tummy and better posture
in weeks - you will be
amazed at the results.
Besides, you can also
immediately start
exercising the pelvic
floor muscles to prevent
urinary incontinence in
the future.
Tummywatch is
also for men !
For those of us who
haven't got the time for
the gym, and a tummy that
has an appetite for belts,
just turn on the
Tummywatch for a few hours
a day.
The
inventor of the Tummywatch
is a businessman who has a
tummy that has an apetite
for belts, too, because he
spends a lot of time
driving his car and
attending business diners.
At first he thought to
control his tummy by
regularly pulling in and
holding his muscles while
he was driving. But then
he noticed that the
muscles lost his attention
within 5 minutes and the
tummy was relaxed again.
Using the Tummywatch
mostly during driving, his
tummy muscles increased
strongly and gave him a
toned up tummy and better
posture.
Do this exercise several
times a day. This is one
of life's good habits. Start it
now !
